COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The Health Care Center for the Homeless relies on various funding sources, including individuals, foundations, corporations; the faith based community as well as local philanthropic groups.

We have been strongly supported by area hospitals, especially Florida Hospital and Orlando Regional Healthcare, which recognizes that our services divert patients from emergency rooms and improve the health of the entire community.

We have been receiving support from Heart of Florida United Way for our dental program.

We also rely on federal, state and local government grants to help run many of our programs.  We receive funds from HUD (Housing and Urban Development), Bureau of Primary Health Care, State of Florida, Orange County and the City of Orlando.  Although these are generous resources they do not cover the total cost of the program services delivered by the Health Care Center for the Homeless.

The Health Care Center for the Homeless is part of the Primary Care access Network or PCAN which is a group of health care clinics around Central Florida.  This network is designed to share resources, volunteers, coordinate services and referrals for secondary treatment.  The network uses its clout to negotiate resources, equipment, material and supplies as well as pharmaceuticals.

HCCH also works in collaboration with area homeless shelters and programs.  We play an integral role in the plans to facilitate and meet the needs of the homeless community.

Many local companies have stepped up to the plate with their support such as Universal Orlando, Xerox Corporation, Publix Super Market Charities and many other small businesses.

We have been a past recipient of the Bob Allen Outstanding Service award from the Walt Disney World Company.
