Poverty and homelessness do not discriminate based on age.  At HCCH we know that domestic violence often affects innocent children and their health needs can be overlooked.  Our approach to pediatric care is two fold.  Our staff pediatrician and nurse educator visit area shelters to provide health care, developmental assessments and well child education for homeless mothers and children.  Families are then followed up at the Orange Blossom Family Health Center, where their health care needs are addressed on an ongoing basis thus providing health care continuity.
